I just realized that my favoritest author, C. J. Cherryh, is like 83, and still actively publishing despite age-related health issues. Her jacket covers when I discovered her in the 90s has a young woman on them, but she was already 60.

Swedish has pitch accent with semantic and morphological effects. It's not tonal like Chinese, but it's not a prosodic difference.

Most people have folk beliefs about cognition, intelligence, AI, language, etc. The "AGI" proponents are going to lean into that, and it only helps them if you chew people out for not reading your paper or asking stupid-sounding questions or whatever.
