Haida Gwaii clinics next week! Also there is a drive-through flu shot at Skidegate Health Centre this Thursday 12-6 pm.
Just got my annual flu (and Covid) shot. The process was fast, free, easy, and came with the added bonus that it’s now less likely I’ll get sick or make someone else sick, or worse.
Haida Gwaii folks - does anyone know if there’s a caregiver support group on island for younger (ish) folks? Like, under 50?
My evening reading. What about you, #booksky?

Today's premiere on Amazon of Shiny Happy People: A Teenage Holy War. I'm in it--not actually praying but talking about Christian nationalism & the reporting I did for a @rollingstone.com story of that name. Check it out. Directed by brilliant @corishep.bsky.social & @nicolenewnham.bsky.social
I wrote about hope in the midst of social and environmental collapse, resisting the death of the soul, and the power of pleasure as a collective practice

I'm reading this collection of essays on #disability and memoir by Johanna Hedva and typing out notes as I go.

There are lots of thick, juicy ideas in here about #chronicillness, #accessibility, #ableism, and what it means to be a human body under capitalism. ⬇️

Hey nondisabled people: I appreciate you jumping on the eugenicist rhetoric coming out of “Dr.” Oz, but I need you to understand: they don’t give a shit about childhood cancer, or dementia, or any illness. It’s all our fault, and if it’s your kid, it’s your fault. That’s how this works.

🗞️ Today in good news: Libro.fm reports that new audiobook memberships in Feb increased by ~275%~ over the previous month! It’s pretty strong evidence that more people are switching away from Amazon and choosing to support their local bookshops in the process.

Thanks, @libro.fm ♥️
