i think there is probably a hand it hasn't played because of the upper earth tease and that might push it harder and there is something about war manufacturing in there slightly but it's not enough to feel fleshed out in ways turn a or l-gaim or 0079 feel

there are things in theory i think are neat like neal growing into a leader and the rimul episodes having that growth conflict with his love that he grew into because of her but i dont love neal and everyone else in the zelana is muuuuch weaker

like i think what hurts it more to me is that its not a very grounded story, and im not saying that in the sense that it is a medieval isekai story, but that its rebellion story is just "drake is a war mongerer!!!" and it stops there, there's not much else going on narratively

theres stuff like garalia's death being really dumb as a capstone to the upper earth episodes and these two rimul episodes felt sorta jnnecessaru when you could do it in one episode and rsally anyone that isnt called show is mmmm but i still like it
