As I wrap up my first day on San José City Council, I wanted thank everyone who made today possible. I wouldn’t be sitting on the dais, serving the residents of District 3, without your support. (1/2)
We gathered downtown to say it loud and clear: in this country, we have #NoKings!

We have to be persistent to see things through. To protect our community from Trump’s budget cuts by voting Yes on Measure A. To take back the House by voting Yes on 50. And to kick him out of the White House in 2028!

Yesterday I had the pleasure of joining @svyoungdems.bsky.social for their fall fundraiser. It’s not an exaggeration to say that their support out at the doors was critical to my campaign’s wins this year. (1/2)

Happy Silicon Valley PRIDE! 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️ Here’s to celebrating 50 years of love, legacy, and liberation! Marching through the heart of downtown, I can’t help be proud of the opportunity I have to provide proud queer representation on the dais here in San José.

California has walked the walk on independent redistricting at the state level for 15 years.

But we cannot unilaterally disarm while other states throw out the rules to gain power.

With one vote, Californians can punch back and also demand nationwide independent redistricting.
I’m proud to be San José’s third ever openly gay councilmember — and our first Filipino councilmember! A diverse democracy is a strong democracy, so never let anyone convince you that it’s not your time. (2/2)
I had the pleasure of taking part in @victoryinstitute.bsky.social’s LGBTQ+ Public Leadership Summit. In spite of the political climate nationally and the local context why we held a special election, I knew how important it was to have openly queer representation on the ballot. (1/2)
Moving forward, this account will be used for campaign purposes. Please reach out to @tordillosd3.bsky.social for any District 3 matters. (2/2)

Thank you, Carl, for your stewardship of the District 3 office! To keep up with the D3 team as I take office, you can follow us on your favorite social media platforms at @TordillosD3.
This is a problem that requires collaboration between the public and private sectors and I look forward to continuing this work on City Council. (2/2)
Last night’s public safety town hall hosted by the San Jose Downtown Association brought together leaders like Mayor Matt Mahan and Supervisor Betty Duong as well as downtown neighbors and community partners for a frank discussion about the challenges of public safety downtown. (1/2)
I had the pleasure of attending Prosperity Lab’s ribbon cutting with my City Council colleagues this afternoon! I’m excited to see how this community kitchen will empower the over 20 food service small businesses taking part in this venture to grow and thrive. (1/2)
It’s time to get to work! I’ll be sworn in first thing Tuesday morning. If you can’t make it in person, you can watch the livestream on YouTube at 9:30 am on August 12 by visiting bit.ly/TordillosOath.
Loved spending time across D3 for National Night Out! I was able to make it out to the St. James Neighborhood, McKinley Bonita, Goodyear Mastic, Japantown, Naglee Park, and Guadalupe Washington. It was so grounding to spend time with neighbors before I take office next week.
Small investments like these come together for the big payoff of a more cohesive, well connected downtown. I’m looking forward to continuing this work on the San José City Council! (2/2)
I’ll be joining SJ City Council next week, but I’m already hard at work making our downtown more vibrant! Yesterday we celebrated the Santa Clara Corridor Project with the San Jose Downtown Association and today I joined volunteers painting the street mural here in the Qmunity District. (1/2)
This Friday, the San Jose Downtown Association, Mayor Matt Mahan, and Supervisor Betty Duong are hosting a town hall on downtown’s current public safety challenges and community-focused solutions. Use the link below to RSVP and submit questions in advance to guide the conversation. See you there!

I was proud to join @seiu.org for today’s #FamiliesFirst Day of Action. Collective action is more important than ever amid the unprecedented ongoing assault from our federal government. Here in San José, I’m committed to fighting for the future our working families and immigrant communities deserve.
Despite the attacks on the LGBTQ+ community at the federal level, I’m incredibly heartened by the fact that here in San José, the voters were overwhelming in their support for restoring queer representation on City Council. (2/2)
