Is this still effective if your MP is one of the strongest advocates for trans people in parliament? I'll do it anyway but I'm guessing it's more effective if your MP is on the fence?
The EHRC philosophy seems to be: yes, we can force you to do mad shit like getting receptionists to demand birth certificates, and no, we don't care about the risks and negative consequences of that - you deal with it!

Falkner writing a pissy letter to the minister going “its been six months and trannies are still legal what gives“ is quite funny tho
The government being pissed off with the EHRC feels cathartic, and I hope it might augur good news for trans rights
A Whitehall source said: “Unfortunately this looks like the EHRC deflecting – they still haven’t sent ministers the information they’ve requested in order to assess the draft code. The EHRC should be cracking on with their job, not giving lectures on timing while government still awaits their material.”

Absolutely! The EHRC is really floundering right now, and Bridget Phillipson (so we hear) is getting increasingly annoyed at them.

What better time than now to write (using our easy-peasy tool) and pressure Phillipson to reject the EHRC’s segregationist Code 🤗📝🤗

Yep, you can't talk this government off a cliff, and if you try they'll respond by just taking us further fucking down it. It's maddening.
Yeah, I'm skeptical this is going to happen as while this government is very hard to talk off a cliff, a) it's going to take a long time to actually implement unlike some of their other horrible measures, and b) it would be an easy way for whoever replaces Starmer to signal a shift in direction

Concerned about what the peace means for Palestinians? Concerned whether there will be peace at all? Concerned about accountability for the Israeli genocide? Shabana Mahmood has this to say to you.
Huge projection going on here given the EHRC guidance is inherently divisive, and it's incredibly cynical to sit on the guidance she is poised to nod through as is, just so that it doesn't damage her (doomed) deputy leadership bid.

It’s worth bearing in mind that to the libs, “defenders of democracy” can mean anything from “Barack Obama” to “Islamist militia we have armed to the teeth” or “death squad carrying out a genocide”, and that in practice, these warm approving terms tend to mean “cooperative with America”.
Apparently our newest Nobel Peace Prize winner wrote to fucking Netanyahu for help in overthrowing the government of her own country dawg
The population of Venezuela needs international protection against the widespread and systematic attack to which the Venezuelan regime subjects it. This is demonstrated by the report dated May 29, 2018, submitted by the Organisation of American States to the International Criminal Court. This has served as the basis for nine states, including Argentina, to file complaints against the regime before that international body. We deeply appreciate this effort, which is decisive for the outcome of the Venezuelan tragedy.

I am convinced that the international community, in accordance with the responsibility to protect doctrine, is called upon to provide Venezuelans with the necessary support to bring about the regime change that is urgently needed to restore national and international security. Therefore, I have recently sent letters to several of the world’s leading figures to promote before the United Nations Security Council the adoption of effective protection measures for Venezuela by fostering regime change, a step that necessarily entails strengthening international security. Today I want to ask Israel and Argentina to contribute their expertise and influence to advance a sound and urgent decision-making process in the Security Council.

Such measures are imperative in the face of a hemispheric security hotspot like the one currently posed by the regime oppressing Venezuela. The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees and the International Organisation for Migration have certified that the current refugee crisis of people fleeing Venezuela is the largest in the history of the Americas. Argentina is an example of this crisis, having welcomed hundreds of thousands of our compatriots—a gesture for which Venezuelans will always be grateful. However, we must be aware that without a change of regime in our country, hemispheric and global security will be at risk.
Advocates of this delude themselves into thinking they can tell with perfect precision who is and is not trans, but they can't, and the result will be that anyone who is subjectively gender non-conforming or suspected of being trans being harassed by vigilante gender police.

A transphobic pressure group is trying to ban trans women from Hampstead women’s pond – it's time to fight back.

Keep Hampstead women’s pond inclusive - add your name 👇

Gosh, that is pathetic. Fuera Milei!
It's quite funny that they announced the Reform DOGE unit after the Musk one had failed massively in its declared goal of "saving" trillions of dollars (albeit it still managed to inflict a lot of misery...) for them to just fail in the same way.
It seems she wants to turn us into a complete pariah state because of nonsense on her twitter feed

Again: our political and media class have frog-boiled themselves so intensely that this doesn’t even strike them as strange but to anyone outside the UK, it is clear that we are in about year seven of an insane McCarthyist rampage because our leaders have lost their legitimacy.
The authoritarian impulse, now completely out of control and rampaging. This is happening because our political and media class hate and fear the left, and do not want to take responsibility for the crimes they have enabled. They’ll resist it to the bitter end, too.

He is the kind of person who surely would have marched with Mosley at Cable Street had he been alive during that era.
The attempt by Labour here to try and take the moral high ground on "learning from Farage" when their response to Farage is to copy his policies and rhetoric is galling.

Lucy Powell has warned that Labour should not wave through a devastating trans bathroom ban 👇

Ripping up trans rights would be a disaster for Labour, for business, for women, and for the wider LGBT+ community.

It's wrong. Labour needs to stop aping Trump and Farage, and protect our human rights.

I have come to the conclusion the EHRC guidance on single sex spaces should not even come to Parliament. It is misleading and has caused distress for my trans constituents.

I urge @bphillipsonMP to reject it on grounds of practicality and human rights.
