We are alarmed that the IU Media School issued orders to interfere with content @idsnews.bsky.social & fired its adviser. These actions disregard strong 1A protections and a long-standing tradition of student editorial independence.

Last week, hours before the start of Yom Kippur, Montgomery County State Senator Ben Kramer sent us a belittling diatribe, insulting his Jewish constituents and repeating debunked talking points from the Israeli government.

Read the letter and our response: docs.google.com/document/d/1...
We sent a letter condemning Sen Kagans trip to Israel, we got a letter in response from Sen. Kramer Sen Kramer accused us of getting our information from the “Hamas propaganda bureau” and made Islamophobic statements

Part of the reason many Germans supported the Nazis was that there really was a lot of violence in the streets & they wanted order. But much of that violence was carried out by the Nazi paramilitary SA.

So the Nazis presented themselves as the solution to a problem they intentionally created

I'm sorry, is the Trump Administration talking to a tech platform?

Is it...requesting content moderation?
Today following outreach from @thejusticedept, Facebook removed a large group page that was being used to dox and target @ICEgov agents in Chicago.
The wave of violence against ICE has been driven by online apps and social media campaigns designed to put ICE officers at risk just for doing their jobs. The Department of Justice will continue engaging tech companies to eliminate platforms where radicals can incite imminent violence against federal law enforcement.

One of the craziest stories I've seen in a long time. If you think Trump and his administration are extreme and depraved, just wait until you learn about the young guns who are positioning themselves to take over the reigns in the next few decades

1. In a major capitulation to Trump, Fenway Health, a center ostensibly dedicated to LGBTQ+ healthcare, has ended its trans care program under 19.

It could have fought for its patients. It chose instead to roll over.

Community members are devastated.

After years of advocacy and growing awareness of Columbus’s human rights abuses, some states and cities switched to celebrating Indigenous Peoples Day. Now, we are witnessing the backlash to that modicum of change. Full post on my substack now:
The racist edict that allowed Columbus to colonize and slaughter Indigenous people is still the law in the U.S. today.
What holiday we celebrate on the second Monday in October matters because it reflects the beliefs we hold about who we are and where we come from as a country.

"President Trump, who canceled Biden’s moratorium on federal executions on Inauguration Day, has long favored the death penalty for dangerous criminals."
Inaccurate imo. Trump favors death penalty for people he deems dangerous, regardless of their actual danger.

In a new analysis piece, famine expert Alex de Waal explores how weaponized mass starvation has historically been used to engineer societal breakdown—and how Israel is now trying to reproduce this pattern in Gaza. Read here: jewishcurrents.org/famines-long...
Famine's Long Shadow
Even if food is surged into Gaza today, the history of weaponized mass starvation shows that the social aftershocks will reverberate for generations.
