Saying it again. You do *not* have to be the most accomplished artist in the world to make an excellent comic that speaks to people and communicates your truths.

Just remembered a dream I had last night where I was tabling at a major new London comic con and was located in the “Cancel Pigs” Hall. I didn’t have anything to sell so was charging £100 for people to have photos taken of themselves wearing the @brokenfrontier.bsky.social Hat.

So cool to hear about this! So many small press comics events springing up around the country now and it's just lovely to see. If you're in Newcastle on Sunday give this your support.

Just a reminder that you can watch the Broken Frontier Six to Watch panel at @captioncomicfest.bsky.social here on YouTube. I'm not going to watch it because there's a bloke with a really annoying silly voice on it. Can't be me though because I sound nothing like that www.youtube.com/watch?v=OOF8...

Hey hey #portfolioday
I’m Amalas and I’m open for cover work.
I love to draw urban scenes and human connections found between concrete and steel, sprinkled with some nostalgia

Book cover for the YA book ICEBREAKER by A.L. Graziadei showing the two male main protagonist facing each other and holding onto each others collar. Digital art of my original characters Aran and Tao as young adults out at night in their local nyc neighborhood kissing. Tao sits on a bicycle and Aran bends down slightly to kiss him. Mock cover of Suzanne Samin and my upcoming graphic novel. The title still r wads Fear Of Falling but we changed it now to Wherever I’m With You.

The cover shows a brick house fall and Aran and Tao sitting on the rooftop, their legs dangling down the edge, and in big letters underneath them it reads “fear of falling” Digital art of original characters Aran and Tao as young teenagers on a hot summer day walking down the streets in their local nyc neighborhood and playing around with a basketball.

Just checking our Thought Bubble spreadsheet and one of the team is assigned to your book for review so you're okay on that front. Hurrah.
andywpoliver.bsky.social
Haha. Not about you! :-) Review/interview requests are different. We don't need press releases for those. This is more about requests for coverage of events. We get soooo many requests with no press release. And they often miss out because I don't have the time to write an entire article myself.

Give this all the promotional support you can, folks! Fantastic initiative currently crowdfunding on Kickstarter.

Something new for 2026 at BF: no press release, no coverage. After Dec you *have* to send a press release with accompanying images. I just don't have the time on top of everything else to "make a story out of this".

I don't think it's unreasonable to expect you to write your own press releases!

Apparently my hotel at Thought Bubble is haunted. Insert your own joke here.

I'm not sure if this is controversial or not but I find graphic novel/comics reviews with zero accompanying images from the interiors absolutely pointless.

Going to try and shake off my post-Covid weariness on Sunday to get along to this. If you have anything to chat about in regards to #ThoughtBubble coverage and you want to grab me this might be the moment.

(Also nobody is more aware than I am that a tiny number of publishers do not make this easy for us, themselves or their creators by making zero interior pages available online!)

Today, courtesy of an eBay seller, I have finally seen what the free poster in 1970s Marvel UK weekly comics THE TITANS #1 actually looks like and I have to say it's pretty cool.

Hi #PortfolioDay, I'm Alison, an artist and sometimes writer from London, UK, and I draw comics, book covers and editorial. Can't show you the sequentials I'm drawing right now but I'm open for covers (especially books), comic writing and to discuss the next thing.
