That's the aim - to have stuff to hand. Don't wanna promise cause supply & production has been tough & anticipated turnout should be huge. But there had to be some moment to try & get a thing started. It's only the beginning. :)
anatosaurus.bsky.social
It will take time to build! There has to be some sort of start, or at least some sort of try.
anatosaurus.bsky.social
There is a plan to hand stuff out at protests. I can't say for sure how much supply will extend as production and shipping has been a big ol' challenge.
anatosaurus.bsky.social
I have! I think it's delightful and also hard to see from a distance.

Great question! It's something to which many of us have given tons of thought. Yellow is hi contrast, hi visibility symbolizing optimism used in other pro-democracy movements around the world, from Hong Kong to South Korea, Ukraine, & Thailand. Other colors already too tied to set things.

Proving at every turn that Trump runs a regime of the bullies, for the billionaires. San Franciscans know what they need - a city where people across races, backgrounds and neighborhoods have what they need.

A unifying color (and/or symbol) has been integral to movements against fascism across places and times. It allows us to know we are indeed a very big we. And to telegraph to others our beliefs in freedom and fairness, prosperity and peace. It makes us a team folks want to join.
Bright yellow background with No Kings written at the top left, below a crown Xed out in red. Below that the words: Saturday, October 18th. Wear yellow. Show up. Show out. nokings.org
Lower right a sign reading "Rejecting Kings Since 1776" and an arm holding it up on a stick.

The fundamental narrative challenge the fascist faces is proving there is some "enemy among us" AND he is eliminating said enemy. He requires the scapegoat to have someone to blame but must eliminate the scapegoat to prove his efficacy. So, he must keep adding to enemy list.

Thank you for speaking truth Senator Van Hollen. It is testament to the righteousness and the power of the resistance that the regime must peddle lies about us.
See you all Saturday when we come together to Free America.

These are the same kind of weasels who would’ve called George Washington & America’s revolutionaries “terrorists.” They spend their days sucking up to King Trump & demonizing peaceful protest just as some in America sought to appease King George III.

Looking forward to No Kings Day.
Johnson describes planned No Kings rally as ‘hate America,’ ‘pro-Hamas’ gathering
Organizers largely blew off the rhetoric, but some Democrats online criticized the tone.

"The purpose of politics is to enact an agenda to actually improve people's lives. It isn't merely to get Democrats elected for the sake of doing so. Which Democrats we elect and how we get them elected matters," says @anatosaurus.bsky.social.

"FDR knew there are sides. When you replace that and have no villains because you want neoliberalism and a rising tide lifts all boats, you render people susceptible to the right. Neoliberalism is the handmaiden to authoritarianism," says @anatosaurus.bsky.social. newrepublic.com/article/2015...

Organizing is essential. Courage is contagious. Social proof is persuasive.
People do the thing they think people like them do.

My latest is the story of how my community has rallied to protect and defend our neighbors in recent days, as ICE has targeted the Rogers Park neighborhood in Chicago. "This is not a story about a moment of victory, but a moment of being reminded of our power."
They Came for Our Neighbors. We Showed Up.
Before long, there were dozens, and then hundreds of people in the streets, watching and responding.

If Marvel wanted to make a parody of a dictator villain, they couldn't possibly trump Trump.

You would think! Especially given one thing all analysts agree is that US electorate is heavily low info/low attention.

The thing about praising folks for holding "heterodox" positions and "running against the party," is that if everyone is meant to do that what then are the positions of the party against which you're meant to run?

Rather than retreating from what his committed opposition claims, Mamdani revels in having the *right* argument.
Throwback FDR: I welcome their hatred.
Bonus - he shows audience how much people are thrilled to be around him, which cues feeling that you are happy to be around him too.

Ah. I assumed you didn't have headline say. Regardless, thanks for reading - let alone - citing my piece!
anatosaurus.bsky.social
If you can look past headline, oped cites what my long read treatment, Bringing a Survey to a Gun Fight, lays out about how real campaign strategy is about setting terms, not responding to them.
