If you don’t frequently see families with kids traveling to destinations by bike, your bike network isn’t safe enough (&/or your zoning forces sprawl & car dependency).

After years of complaining about cancel culture, the current administration has taken it to a new and dangerous level by routinely threatening regulatory action against media companies unless they muzzle or fire reporters and commentators it doesn’t like.
Let’s be clear about what happened to Jimmy Kimmel

The federal government under Trump is the exact terrorist state that conservatives always say they fear.

But they love it. They always have. They have just always feared that their opponents would do to them what they want to do to the groups they hate.

The Bryant Ave transformation has been revolutionary! If we can build bike infrastructure like this all over Minneapolis, tens of thousands more people will feel comfortable biking around our city.

Real talk: We now have more bikes than we do storage, money for repairs or volunteers to manage check in/out.

What a good problem to have!

But if you want to see us use our full fleet (& expand it) consider making a donation or becoming a volunteer.

“The school drop-off ritual is a powerful curriculum, teaching kids that they are packages to be delivered and picked up, and that they require constant adult supervision” 😩😩😩

Mr. Boenau (@urbanismspeakeasy.com) nails it here -

"Line up, inch forward, unload. It looks like logistics management because it is logistics management. We have turned the beginning of a school day into a miniature supply-chain operation."

Studies show long term healthy behaviors are established early. That's why our youth education is focused on k-8. That's why you should sign your whole family up for the Tour. That's why it's so great that 100% of proceeds go to supporting statewide bike education and advocacy!

Rode an e-trike (rented from @mplscargobikelibrary.com) to Mayorpalooza last night. I don't know how to ride a bike, so this was my first ride EVER. I loved it! Can't wait to try it again!

Grateful to live in such a bikeable city and to the bike library for helping me discover the joys of cycling.
