Hi #PortfolioDay, I'm Alison, an artist and sometimes writer from London, UK, and I draw comics, book covers and editorial. Can't show you the sequentials I'm drawing right now but I'm open for covers (especially books), comic writing and to discuss the next thing.

sticker up for immigrants f*ck reform too many people i love are being victimized by nigel farage and i am going to mobilise the entire uk comics industry to fucking defeat him and protect myself, immigrants and refugees our target is the 2026 local council elections. through targetted sticker and flyer campaigns i aim to destroy reform UK's momentum in vulnerable constituencies throughout the UK this is a link to resources. I am sorry people who use screen readers I am not able to transcribe everything. I am one guy and I am doing this on voluntary basis. if you use a screen reader and have mates who would be willing to help me convert my text posts into readable formats please link us up

People are always rightly pointing out that Warhammer contributes more to the British economy than the fishing industry, but the problem is that there just aren't very many folk songs about Warhammer

I like drawing lots of things- for me with comics, the puzzle is the challenge, making the storytelling carry emotion whilst also doing everything the story needs. Here's some sequentials (three of which coloured by Jordie Bellaire, one about to be).
Everything tells a story.

Sent another sticker off printerwards today. This one’s not glow in the dark, but should be printed on some nice, slightly pinky holographic paper.
It’s a rat I drew a week or two ago, with its little rat arms up in the air, exclaiming I’M JUST A FUCKING RAT // GOD FUCKIN DAMN IT.

one thing LLMs have revealed is that the belief that there is a magical incantation that will give you what you want is not just confined to pick-up artists and freemen on the land
desfitzgerald.bsky.social
Seeing people nonchalantly post stuff like makes me feel like I'm going crazy honestly.
A post from an academic on blue sky that says: "I'm learning about "prompt engineering" when asking LLMs to extract data. I now add this to all instructions:

Style
Be concise, analytic, and specific (cite page/figure if provided). If essential info is missing, keep going but flag Unclear and exact data needed. Never invent data.

What do you think about Patrick Grant's Community Clothing, in the UK? I have a really nice coat from them and a pair of jeans. They're trying to produce locally.

Uffizi, Accademia, cross the river for the Pitti Palace, get into as many churches with amazing old paintings as possible, do the Duomo roof climb, eat street pizza, and if you have time, get out of town to go see somewhere like San Gimignano. Two long days.

Maybe stay over- I've only done that Rome to Florence once and it felt like ages (it also is via Pisa, if I remember). That said, I think you'd want more than a day. BTW The Rest Is History podcast has a cracking set of pods on the Medicis.

Really important reminder of how Reform aren’t just Little Englanders, but part of an international far-right network which wants to take away fundamental rights we all take for granted - and wants to use “free speech” as a lever
