My opinion on here is a whisper in the wind. My action out there is a force.

This does provoke a profoundly negative visceral reaction in my gut
Behold: Republican permitting reform.
You can always tell who is still on Twitter because they blames Dems for everything because those posts always go viral there.
Joe Biden also called for eliminating the filibuster to pass abortion rights…so? This is just plainly inaccurate.
@nbminor.bsky.social did a whole mini-podcast series about FasTracks which was soooo good

There’s like a lot of honest fodder out there to dirty establishment Dems in CO. And I think being dishonest or half truthful as a bunch of “progressives”(??) in denver seem to be doing is going to be ignored or back fire.

Joe Neguse attended the rallies and Jason Crow called for people to attend.

Could be better but also better than what’s being portrayed here.
As previously noted, Joe Neguse was the only one of the six to attend a No Kings protest in June.

Just a very, very conspicuous refusal — by Democratic politicians who insist they are leading the anti-Trump resistance — to be seen using one big and obvious tool in the anti-Trump political toolbox.
Neguse appears to be the only one out of Colorado’s six Democratic members of Congress to have attended a No Kings protest yesterday.
Harry Reid (a senator) did the first major filibuster reform in decades when Obama was president. Biden called for the end of the filibuster to pass the John Lewis voting rights act.

This is John Roberts and a lot of luck in how Supreme Court justices have died/retired/stole an election
So glad that Obama & Biden handcuffed their majorities from fixing any problems b/c they thought Republicans would play nice...

Democrats had multiple opportunities to fix these things but they let a mythical filibuster & fake parliamentarian stop them. Now we pay the price.

what trump brought to the republican party, more than maybe any other thing, was contempt for virtue, and he’s demanded that republicans abandon any virtue they might have once had.
It is not so long ago that disability policy was bipartisan. I taught at the Bush School, and George H.W. Bush would talk about his pride in signing the Americans with Disabilities Act.
Every once in a while during the 2024 campaign, I'd meet parents of disabled kids who were part of Moms for Liberty or people who taught autistic kids. @slooterman.bsky.social writes how they are afraid right now as Trump targets special education staff.

He’s basically never stopped being popular among democrats its why he won the 2024 primaries—and also by June everyone thought he wouldn’t win independents and low propensity voters and that was basically the correct take.

Some folks were worried that they'd sic thugs on the protestors or declare martial law. Instead they posted AI videos and complained.

These people have no juice. Their supporters are cowards. They are are all bark and no bite. They collapse when we push back. Remember that.

So many things have
torn us apart for so long, but when the Portland #NoKings march goes under the Hawthorne Bridge and everyone shouts as loud as they can and everyone is getting high on the collective roar we make you realize this thing is bringing us together and get shivers in your frog suit
It’s such a dull romanticized version of rural life. It’s like the embodiment of the “all hat no cowboy” saying. It’s like all stollen valor for people who actually live pretty disconnected from society. It’s kinda like stollen farm valor masking an anti-social personality disorder

every smug internet communist tweet about showing up to a No Kings protest with an abolish ICE shirt to scare the libs is getting completely mogged by the real-life winemoms showing up with slogans like "ICE will melt in hell"

Remember back in January when all these sage politics-knowers were writing about how there had been a vibe shift and now the resistance was over?

lol. lmao.

Elites collapsed and capitulated. Regular people never did. #NoKings

For sure some of the legacy media outlets are downplaying the protests because they’re aligned with Trump, but I think an even bigger factor is how many elite journalists have a patrician disdain for the idea that politics can happen in the streets and not just the CNN green room.

The notion that regular people could be political agents outside of elections isn’t threatening to them, it’s incomprehensible.
To be clear this is only slightly worse than rural republicans who are extremely hateful and hold a grievance many believe can only be sated by blood.

Being a Republican outside of the actual rurals these days is like 95% cosplaying as someone from the rurals: drive truck, wear camo, buy guns, pretend your exurban sprawling estate is a “ranch”

Puts on RealTree™️ camo hat: ok let me tell you a thing or two about Republicans that all you liberals don’t seem to understand.
to this i would add a good amount of self-loathing stemming from a belief that liberal political views are somehow “inauthentic” or an affectation of “elites”
I agree with whoever said a rather under-appreciated dynamic is the extent to which Professional Politics Opinion Havers flat out just find the left interpersonally irritating in a way they do not find the right so, and I think a lot of the talk of a vibe shift was wish-casting their irritants away.
Not me though I’m just going to panic over the YouGov and Quinnipiac polls that show a a small MOE dip form poll to poll
