I’m Alex, a Cuban-American kidlit book editor. My interests include my dog Winnie, baking, and chisme.

2/2 Belly will go to Paris. She will go to Stanford for a sports psych masters. She will reconnect with Conrad as “friends.” THEN they will finally kiss. At least part of the last episode will be a flash forward to them getting married at the beach house. All relationships will be repaired. Fin.

My prediction for how The Summer I Turned Pretty will differ from the book: Belly & Conrad do not kiss before the wedding. Belly makes the active choice not to marry Jeremiah instead of~*the drama*~ breaking them up. She will not immediately end up w/ Conrad. 1/2

As the ppl in my life started having kids, I’ve made it a habit to always congratulate the parents on their child’s first birthday for surviving their first year of parenthood. It’s arguably a bigger accomplishment than whatever that baby has been up to.

Hot take: Living in the city isn’t as hard as people say it is. Some people just don’t like city life, and that’s totally fine—but they should admit that instead of blaming the city itself.
