It’s basically a gimmick that lets the courts avoid hard questions when they feel like it; they can be incredibly creative about finding there is standing when they do want to decide something

I'm convinced that at least 75% of the discourse on The Life of a Showgirl has little to do with the album itself. It's an above-average record that's neither a masterpiece nor a bomb and being leveraged by many solely as a useful proxy for folks' competing resentments with the world and each other.

Realists will go on and on about how Russia can't help but feel threatened by NATO expansion but will never consider that their theory, if applied universally, also explains why former Soviet republics and Warsaw Pact states would want to join NATO.
