Playing Earthbound for the first time ever in 2025 is fascinating, actually. You're just a kid and the world's gone mad. All the adults are useless at best or trying to kill you at worst. Everyone talks like a crazy person. Everything's too expensive. Your next door neighbor wants to be a dictator.

I think it's really funny and sad that GF honestly probably copied the "arm rests" on park benches without awareness that's anti-homeless architecture, simply because that's how benches look in some places.

More broadly how much do captchas even stop bots anyway, they're regularly annoying for real users, and then we have the ones that are supposedly for transcribing old books, but you gotta have the *right answer already* to make a valid captcha out of them.

I was idly thinking "we should change captchas to as "I'm real" to support those not human" but there's also those that would like to be imaginary so that doesn't quite work either.

Realising as I think about this, that if Pokemon had voice acting people would eventually expect:
a) the pokemon to be dubbed (+FIGS!)
b) random trainers to be dubbed, including "Go, X!"

... and the latter would be truly herculean because it's much more complicated compared to voicing random mooks.
