I feel like not enough is being said about the tsunami of premium increases coming for 2026. It's not just the ACA subsidies. Virtually *everyone's* insurance is rising, some as dramatically as the ACA. We are in a crisis with health insurance. I have good govt worker plan and mine is going up 12%!

@reichlinmelnick.bsky.social Did you see this from the Raw Story version of the story? This makes me even more skeptical about McLaughlin's claim that he was a hardened criminal. They didn't know they were dealing with a 13 year-old??

“ICE does NOT target juveniles or children,” DHS Assistant Secretary of Public Affairs Tricia McLaughlin said in a statement to MassLive. “At the time of the detainment, ICE had no knowledge of the individual’s age.”

I just read the Globe article. I would be absolutely astonished to find out now that this 13 year-old really does have a long rap sheet, as McLaughlin suggests. It really does stretch credulity to the breaking point.
