I'm sorry, I hope I didn't come across as unnecessarily harsh. But at the same time I want you to know that, even if you can't rationalise it, people *do* mean the kind words they say to you, and aren't lying or just mocking you.I know that can feel impossible to internalise though.

Because on some level this is essentially expecting all your friends and everyone around you who cares about you to be complicit in your self-loathing and ultimately self-harm, and I don't think that's fair on you or on others
