Exactly. No one is going to like what you write if you don't like it yourself. Make sure you would play what you make before thinking about how to make others play it.

Same! The first two games I ever ran were a Starcraft game and a Warcraft game.

I have a couple game hacks for playing Starcraft in Genesys and SWN. Check them out if you like.

I ran this game at #gamernationcon this past april, and did a bit of editing to submit it to the #forbiddenjam #gamejam on #itch.io.

Paranormal investigation? Aliens? Maybe a little time shenanigans? If that interests you, take a look!

I started Stormlight Archives. Great story, but holy cow my head spins with all the characters, concepts, and plots thrown at me so quickly. It's hard to keep track of an action scene when there are like 5 similar characters with similar sounding names all doing stuff at once.

I've begun my journey as a TTRPG creator. I created two small games for #itch.io #gamejams, bright-sun-games.itch.io/harebrained-... and bright-sun-games.itch.io/he-cast-them....

I am also determined to have a game ready for #zinequest #zinemonth 2026! Finally getting back on the writing train!

Day 4 of #gencon over. Sad to be done but happy for the time I had. I made new friends, met new people, and had plenty of great #ttrpg games. Now it's time to find out how mad my cat is at me.

Day 2 and 3 of #gencon. So much fun, and such an amazing vibe! All my games have been amazing. #ttrpg

Emailed and called Visa. If they want emails and calls, oh they'll get 'em.

Here's a screenshot of the email I sent to Visa about this. Collective action *can* make a difference in times like this, and sending a letter takes as little as a couple of minutes.
Dear Visa team,

I am a small business owner and a long-time visa customer through my Chase Southwest Premier credit card. I do business with this card and have been generally very pleased by Visa's service.

However, as I see payment processors bowing to far-right censorship groups like Collective Shout and that causing retailers to de-list thousands of titles with no notice (https://www.rascal.news/itch-io-delists-bans-games-under-pressure-from-payment-processors-and-an-australian-anti-porn-group/) I grow very worried that Visa may bow to this pressure as well.

If Visa gives in to pressure from hate groups like Collective Shout and forces retailer partners to de-list adult, NSFW, and/or LGBTQIA content, I will be forced to take my business to another company that supports creators like me. I do not want to throw away this long-standing relationship, but I need to know that my financial partners will not throw me to the wolves because of pressure from hate groups. And if I go, I will be loud when I do it, encouraging my thousands of followers to make similar decisions, working with my colleagues across professional organizations to flock to companies that will support us while abandoning those that leave us in the cold.

We live in dangerous times, and it is crucial to stand up against fascistic censorship wherever it rears its ugly head. I implore Visa leadership to vocally oppose and resist this pressure from far-right groups and reap the benefits through sustained and strengthened business relationships with creators around the world that rely on a consistent payment processor partner to be able to share their art and creativity.

Thank you for your time,
Michael Underwood

After being on the playtest for this game, I'm glad they are taking what's good from this game and making their own stuff from it. I think it'll be better as its own thing.

Of course it's "hateful" and a slippery slope when it's leftist and anti-fascist. It's only hateful when it makes fascists feel bad. Shameful.

Had a lot of fun for #freeRPGday this past weekend. A bit of #dnd, and bit of #arkhamhorrorrpg, and just a general day of games.

Plus I got clued in on Son of Oak's new games, and I'm definitely going to be picking up some books in the near future.

And this is why I included intent as an element we can use to analyze the ttrpgs we make, even if many randos screamed bloody murder about it.

Work that is bereft of intent shows, for its cracks are obvious with basic scrutiny alone. You make more fascinating things when you think things through.

Also, like...

It's _fine actually_ if your worldbuilding reflects modern understandings. That is, so long as you're *INTENDING IT TO.*

Like everything in design, make sure what you're doing is on purpose. Otherwise you're not designing, just regurgitating. And we sadly now have "AI" for that shit.

This isn't just a LitRPG issue. It's a broad creative issue in fantasy. I'm not saying that people should only recreate the actual conditions of pre-industrial civilizations. Just that they put some thought into the world building and consider how their own norms might bias their work.
