yeah exactly

most so-called originalists aren't actually fans of originalism, and most sane people realize that the founding fathers were mostly wrong about almost everything and we should only listen to the parts they got right and ignore the rest

"The Founding Fathers obviously intended for humans to be bought and sold as property, and we need to get back to that!"

an actual originalist would, but most people who claim to be originalists are just using that term as a cover for reactionaryism

in a criminal case, refusing to turn over relevant evidence to the defendant is a Confrontation Clause violation and is grounds to dismiss the entire indictment with prejudice

Ask any of your favorite Black women writers from a decade ago why their bylines stopped appearing, and you’ll likely hear the same response: There is no place for us in media. In TV. In publishing or academia. For the majority of us, there’s no place but gone.
thank you for all the support; the statement from our union is now live here with some more reporting.

now that this is public I can confirm that the majority of today’s layoffs were women of color. there are no longer any Black women working at Teen Vogue.
i'd rather have the joker in charge

The president of the United States thinks asylum-seekers come from mental asylums.

He says it in almost every interview where the topic of migration comes up.

How is this not 25th Amendment territory? How is he not an embarrassment to this entire country?

you don't have to put on blackface to get social media attention. you can simply develop mild depression, join a menswear forum, spend the next 15 years arguing about pants, and then weaponize the knowledge against your enemies on social media.

Yes this is a real tweet. Governor Abbott is either insufferably ignorant or hopes his MAGA base is. Governors cannot impose tariffs on Americans moving about in the USA. This is specifically banned by:
•Article I, Section 2
•Article IV, Section 2
•14th Amendment

Texas ranks 41st in Education smh
Well, that was fun, but I need a drink.

I was laid off from Teen Vogue today along with multiple other staffers, and today is my last day.

certainly more to come from me when the dust has settled more, but to my knowledge, after today, there will be no politics staffers at Teen Vogue.
not to mention it reflects a Bezosian notion that American equals capitalist and that having doubts about end-stage capitalism is inherently anti-American, neither of which is actually a core requirement of American identity

I am so tired of the ersatz working-class mama's boy oysterman and I am very ready for him to go away.
are they letting AI write the timeline now?
of course not, such a thing is against the natural order of things. mostly this is the millenial dominionists continuing to try to foster armageddon and the second coming of christ

A reminder that less than two months ago, the Trump administration abruptly ended the federal government's 27-year practice of collecting data on hunger and food insecurity.
