I did notice that the camera does things like dip down on hill crests, so it probably is on a path and the effect was intentional! It's kind of making me motion sick and i don't usually have a problem with that lol

Only thing can think of is to make it simpler to avoid clipping through the walls or ground (but there's other ways around that...) or, possibly, they specifically wanted that camera effect. It does kind of help sell the sensation of speed IMO

my guess would be that's what's being done but there's also an easing function so that it doesn't snap instantaneously and it's maybe a little too damped?

I've read dev stories that suggest that's one of the ways it's done, just have a spline that is the camera track and then keep the camera pointed at the car

not to take away from the comic but this reminds me of that reddit post I think it was about the guy that gets down on one knee in the shower and slowly stands up while humming the Terminator theme as part of their morning ritual

wish we'd stop pretending autism is a super power, it's got me feeling like an ex-"gifted kid" again in that it doesn't help me socially or professionally that I am the way I am
