In this vein, NCAA Basketball for the SNES was a decent game, but they didn't have the Pac10! Or the Big Ten!

If you leave one magazine job and go write a book, apparently for a major publisher, and you deliver your manuscript and take another magazine job less than a year later, when did the exile part happen, exactly?

Incredible how many people simply use Christianity for their own selfish ends and never consider: "What did Jesus say about empire?"

Tom Bowman has held his Pentagon press pass for 28 years. He says the Pentagon's new media policy makes it impossible to be a journalist, which means finding out what's really going on behind the scenes and not accepting wholesale what any government or administration says. n.pr/4q87Jwb

Still thinking hypocrisy is part of the point. We can do it to "them" but "they" better not do it to us.

I'm sorry, is the Trump Administration talking to a tech platform?

Is it...requesting content moderation?
Today following outreach from @thejusticedept, Facebook removed a large group page that was being used to dox and target @ICEgov agents in Chicago.
The wave of violence against ICE has been driven by online apps and social media campaigns designed to put ICE officers at risk just for doing their jobs. The Department of Justice will continue engaging tech companies to eliminate platforms where radicals can incite imminent violence against federal law enforcement.

On a side note I have so much respect that there were producers on 60 Minutes who made the decision “I’m willing to get fired” and then Scott Pelley came on the air and said “today we said goodbye to our producer _____ because they felt like they couldn’t report the news truthfully to you anymore”

Brewers completed possibly the wildest double play in MLB playoffs history, but it wasn't enough.

Mariners gonna sell a ton of Huckle-Nut Cannoli when they get back to their super-happy fans.

Used to be, you'd cross the county line and notice how the fire hydrants were different or something, and that's how you'd feel like you were in a slightly different world. Now, you can watch people proudly cook their own brains in real time.

By FAR, Stephen King's best work is On Writing, his non-fiction semi-memoir about being a writer, and his top fiction is mid at best.

The best editors I've ever had made my writing as close to bulletproof as they could. They approached editing with the idea of making my thinking and writing stronger, and in turn the stuff I subsequently brought them was much better. That drive is not evident in Weiss's published body of work.

Flanagan (and, I suspect, Jenkins) seems to think that Weiss is a talented person who, though once shackled, now speaks hard truths that others don't acknowledge. This ignores that her primary complaint of the NYT was that she/conservatives were held to journalistic standards and intellectual rigor.

Please nobody tell professional writer praising professional journalists Caitlin Flanagan what "out of whole cloth" means
