Joe Carter and Candy Maldonado homered.

22 years ago today, Roy Halladay pitched a 10-inning, three-hit shutout for the Blue Jays to lead them to a 1-0 win over the Tigers at SkyDome.

With this, Halladay became the first MLB pitcher to throw an extra-inning shutout since Jack Morris in Game 7 of the 1991 World Series.

Of course, I remember exactly where I was when Joe Carter hit his World Series-winning home run in 1993.

I also realize that Carter did a lot more during his MLB career than hit that homer.

Batting leadoff and playing centre field, Stewart went 1-for-3 with two walks in the Blue Jays' 10-4 loss to the Chicago White Sox.

His first hit was a single off Wilson Alvarez in the fifth inning.

A strong case could be made for Eleanor Callow, who was born on this date in Winnipeg in 1927.

She's the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League's all-time HR leader (55) and all-time triples leader (60).

She died in 1974.

The way playoff baseball is, I think him over Bassitt right now, and further decisions taken series by series. Has just shown more consistent command and every SP has to show up in a playoff start or it can be over fast.

That made them the oldest battery in MLB history.

It was also Borders’ final MLB game.

The Mariners won 9-3.
