In response to Trump’s statement that “Modi promised him not to buy oil from Russia”, India issued a statement.

In other words, no, India will do as they seem fit to their own interests
In response to media queries on comments on India's energy sourcing, the Official Spokesperson, Shri Randhir Jaiswal said:
"India is a significant importer of oil and gas. It has been our consistent priority to safeguard the interests of the Indian consumer in a volatile energy scenario. Our import policies are guided entirely by this objective.
Ensuring stable energy prices and secured supplies have been the twin goals of our energy policy. This includes broad-basing our energy sourcing and diversifying as appropriate to meet market conditions.
Where the US is concerned, we have for many years sought to expand our energy procurement. This has steadily progressed in the last decade. The current Administration has shown interest in deepening energy cooperation with India.
Discussions are ongoing."

Great reporting by @conorgallagher.bsky.social

The Irish Times frequently now uses 'Republic of Ireland' or 'the Republic' to describe the state, not 'Ireland', as per the constitution. A change?

"The Republic of Ireland contributes 333 peacekeepers to Unifil"

‘We were raised up with the Irish since 1978, and suddenly they are pulling out’
Planned withdrawal of Unifil troops from Lebanon will ‘embolden’ Israeli military, locals fear

So Ireland looks set to vote in a eurosceptic, pro Brexit friend of dictatorships.
Farage will drink to that!
morgenrothedgar.bsky.social
Just shows that what happened in the US (trump), what will happen in the UK (Farage) can happen in Ireland too.
morgenrothedgar.bsky.social
If some vegetables their way the headline will soon be "Microsoft quits Ireland". Same goes for Intel.
Of course nothing Ireland does will have any real effect. The Taoiseach doesn't even seem to have been invited to Sharm el-Scheikh.

1. Not really as Ukraine already has its own long range weapons.
2. What are you going to do about it? Presumably nothing just as with all your previous red lines

Lavrov:Supplying Ukraine with Tomahawks would lead to a very serious escalation between Russia&the U.S

"Yes,there have been statements about Tomahawks, but in this series of statements regarding the possible supply of Tomahawks, Trump, among other comments, mentioned that he does not want escalation⤵️

They got associated with non environmental issues and came across too much as the party of prohibition and restriction (people really don't like that unless it is very well explained and sensible). Ultimately a they were an easy target/lighting rod.

SF will flatten them all (see SDLP) but one thing they will not do is deal with Green issues.
The problem with Greens is that they are too fundamentalist, which makes them very fringe. If they were pragmatic they would probably still be in government and would achieve more for the environment.

Instead they put themselves on the side of Mick and Clare types.

1/7 We have a new blog post in our Beyond the Budget series, titled “Why corporation tax could be even more concentrated than you think”. It looks at how these tax revenues could be even more concentrated among tech and manufacturing groups than official data suggests.

Happy hiring an Eirigi convict, painting countries that are defending themselves against russian attacks as NAZI aggressors...
Really?

It's just another word for verbal diarrhea, which is what it is!

What is worse is that the GP is supporting Connolly!

Is 'radical' the new word for unreflected, factless, ideological opinion?
morgenrothedgar.bsky.social
Anyone quoting Trotsky can't be taken seriously!
morgenrothedgar.bsky.social
And when there is a negative story about Connolly the @irishtimes.com puts up a picture of Humphreys.

Wouldn't be anything nee to Sinn Fein/IRA who executed many nationalists or kneecapped them.

And one presidential candidate would prefer to leave them unprotected, even though that could have seriously negative consequences for Ireland. A president should be protecting Ireland and not want to leave her defenceless
