Spirit world shenanigans #zukka #sokka #zuko #atla
A slightly older Sokka and Zuko having fun in the spirit world. They wear their traditional casual clothes but their hair is a bit longer - Sokka's tied up in his usual style and Zuko's in his firelord style sans crown with a few strands falling around his face. They are laughing together, running through a shimmering stream that reflects the sunset colors in the sky. The river is edged in stones and vibrant colored plants line the bank of the stream. Behind them loom giant lily pads. They are joined by two spirit bunnies that fly alongside them and the whole piece is backlit by the setting sun, casting everything in a warm glow.

Most #Zukka #whump tends to focus on Zuko, so I thought I'd change it up a bit and focus on Sokka instead. Set in Season 1, the boys get captured by Commander Zhao alongside Shyu, the fire sage who had helped Aang in Roku's temple. Heed the warnings.

There is a spider in the corner of the room and in its web there is a fly. The fly doesn't struggle. Not anymore. Its bound, body wrapped in ribbons of silver so fine they bite, bejewelled by the early morning dew gathering on the spider's strands, restricted by that sparkling beauty as it slowly is drained dry. Nothing more than a small little husk. There is a spider in the corner of the room and as the spider stretches its multi jointed limbs out, reaching again for another sip, another drink, the last from this particular prey, it’s articulated joinery—clack, clack —act as hyōshigi—drawing attention here—here—look here— Because here there is a spider in the corner of the room, a fly trapped in its web, and Zuko—Zuko is dying.
