When I asked Ybarra, a fellow layman with the exact same formal academic theological qualifications as me (i.e. none), in good faith, how come he advocated for PSA as a Catholic which in my understanding was a very specifically Calvinist concept, he told me I was being a "bad student"

for all the BS song-and-dance they do about how "thank you Lord I am humble enough to be under the authority of Holy Church, unlike when I was a Protestant," these Ybarra and Flanders types are absolutely still under the "authority" of their own ego, unwilling to savor the breadth of their tradition

This also reminds me of how Erick Ybarra once told me, when I asked him to give me good recommendations of Catholic sources on soteriology and substitutionary atonement (Ybarra defends PSA as "the patristic view"), that there are no good Catholic ones, and sent me some Reformed titles
