Final acid test will be school log-in Monday, but so far it seems to work + was surprisingly easy.

suppose i'm rawdogging windows10 for a while
are there services that will offer protection? i'm not particularly keen to downgrade to windows with spyware+ during the early stages of "we're going to find the transes and execute them" surveilence fascism.

Linux development is so much more streamlined than Windows. Dev speed is through the roof when most tasks are done via terminal. Never going back

Si vous pensez à vous initier à #Linux pour remplacer Windows dans votre ordinateur, #LinuxMint est un excellent choix. Notamment pour son environnement de bureau familier. Idéal pour les ordinateurs ayant plusieurs années (10-15 ans ? Pas de problèmes!!). #Windows10
Je viens d'installer linux mint pis ca ete facile, y'a deja plein de trucs office de base etc ca marche bien pis je l'ai testé et partionné le dd en roulant sur la clef usb

Drôle de hasard. La nouvelle version majeure de #ZorinOS, une distribution #Linux au visuel familier pour les utilisateurs de Windows, est sortie le 14 octobre, date où le support de #Windows10 a pris fin. Distro excellente pour débuter.

J'ai installé avec succès #Windows11 25H2 sur un ordinateur non compatible dans notre usine. Le PC a un processeur Intel de 6e génération (alors que Microsoft exige minimum 8e gen). Mon article est donc encore valide. Seule restriction : le « Secure boot » doit être activé. #astuces #Windows10

#Windows10 support has ended. Instead of moving to #Windows11, I switched to #Linux. Linux is free and privacy respecting, and comes with LibreOffice - a complete, free and very capable office suite.

・・・でも、あれも元はLinuxベースなんですよね。
「Linuxとは全く別のOS」と言う誤認識を与える原因にならないか、ちと気になります。
ところで、Linux系OSで街中の公衆無線LANを使おうとした場合に関してこういうブログ記事を見つけました。

Today is the end of support deadline for #Windows10. I’ve had so many memories using the OS from Christmas 2015 all the way until Christmas 2022 when I upgraded to 11. It will be missed.

RIP mainstream #Windows10. Remember that if 11 says your hardware is "too old", it's probably not true. There are alternatives to help negate the possible e-waste disaster incoming. 10 LTSC is one, but it won't last forever. In the meantime/as an alternative, please consider giving #Linux a shot.
