My grandfather was in the Wehrmacht in World War II. Just a cook, but in the Wehrmacht nonetheless. And my line about that is, no, I don't bear any blame for Nazi Germany's crimes against humanity, but I do bear a RESPONSIBILITY to prevent anything like that from happening again.

those carriages are a great reminder that out of all big armies in ww2, wehrmacht was the least motorised one and the most reliant on fucking horses which put an additional strain on their farming industry

Im Oktober 1941 erschoss die deutsche Wehrmacht unterstützt von einheimischen Faschisten des SDK in #Kragujevac #Serbien mehr als 2300 Zivilisten. Darunter 300 Schüler und 18 Lehrer (wollten ihre Schüler nicht alleine sterben lassen) des städtischen Gymnasiums. #niemalsvergessen #sfsn 1/4

Vielen Internierten gelang es nicht mehr, sich vor dem Überfall der deutschen Wehrmacht auf Polen am 1. September 1939 zu retten. Die meisten von ihnen wurden während der Zeit der deutschen Besatzung in Konzentrations- oder Vernichtungslager deportiert und ermordet.

The manosphere - like Jocko’s Nazi co-host - would also have you believe that the Waffen SS were supernaturally elite.
It’s true that they were more likely to expend all ammo before surrendering, but they surrendered just like the Wehrmacht units breaking to their left and right and front and rear.

at the end of the war we judged SS guys way worse than regular Wehrmacht guys because you actively made a choice to join up knowing full well you were going to go commit atrocities. nobody ended up in the Einsatzgruppen or as a concentration camp guard by accident
