Want to know why the meteorologists are fumbling all over themselves with innacurate #forecasts and can't nail down what is really going to happen? Blame #DOGE. They cut #NWS #WeatherBalloons in the #Midwest so there is no way to really understand all these #ClimateChange driven storms same-day.

When there isn't enough people to do a job effectively and thoroughly the result is sub par. The equipment (ie weatherballoons) is not reusable. it needs to be replaced that cost money that has been cut off. So yes. that is one hell of a statement. staff did all it could with little resources

the best method of assessing atmospheric conditions.
Pressure, pressure gradients, how the winds are flowing, moisture levels are all important factors. The launching of weatherballoons has been diminished since the cuts. This makes forcasts inaccurate "Everybody says so!"

Notice from the National Weather Service #NWS for Reduction of Radiosonde (Weather Balloon) Observations. I know for some it may sound silly that we still used #weatherballoons, but it is the cheapest, most reliable, most detailed way to get a profile of the atmosphere vertically. 😢 ⛈️ #Wx #Weather

Great. I guess this was expected. DOGE never sailed the Great Lakes obviously. Sell the boat. 😞
