Record of the day : Trespass - Genesis
Today’s record is Trespass by Genesis. Released in 1970, it’s the second album by English progressive band. It is an interesting album, the first to be really progressive after they stopped working with their first producer Jonathan King. The album is the only to feature John Mayhew on the drums, although he was older and had more experience he felt unsure of his playing and left. He was replaced by Phil Collins. John Mayhew - the Pete Best of Prog - then had a totally different life as a carpenter in Australia. The album is also the last to feature guitarist Anthony Philips who founded the band with bassist Mike Rutherford in 1967. After leaving the band, Philips felt like he had to study music more and learned classical guitar, piano and orchestration.
