Meaningless victory. The only issue that would have been considered was whether she had the religious freedom to not recognize same sex marriages in her job. Doesn't mean that they won't take up the issue of the validity of federal recognition of same sex marriages over it being a state issue.

the purpose of an appeal is not generally to litigate the appropriateness of the sentence but the validity of the process which arrived at it, as you would know if your conception of how the state kills people had not been interrupted by the idea of murder giving you an erection
