#tinytable
#rstats
Just added a {tinytable} method for printing collinearity diagnostics in my {VisCollin} pkg.

It uses background colors to show warning levels for condition indices and for the associated variance proportions
Only in the dev version, 0.1-4, friendly.r-universe.dev/VisCollin

{gt} is great for rendering HTML tables, BUT what if you need more? Meet {tinytable}—it lets you create tables in HTML, LaTeX, Word, PDF, PNG, Markdown, and Typst #rstats vincentarelbundock.github.io/tinytable/

{tinytable} 0.14.0 for #RStats makes it super easy to draw tables in html, tex, docx, typ, md & png.

There are only a few functions to learn, but don't be fooled! Small 📦s can still be powerful.

Check out the new gallery page for fun case studies.

Two things though on `tinytable`: 1) num_mark_big doesn’t seem to work with typst? At least it’s not working for me :( 2) A super small thing, but in typst font size is a proportion (in em) and not pt units. Thnx for all the work, the website has been super helpful!

I believe the {tinytable} package by @vincentab.bsky.social has support for tables in Typst.

It looks like there are open issues to add support for Typst tables in other packages as well

flextable is probably better if you very specifically need to insert colors in Word documents. tinytable supports other formats better, and I'd argue that its syntax is simpler. But I designed the syntax, so I'm terribly biased 😅

Compiling a .typ file with one of these tables is essentially instantaneous: typst compile file.typ. And of course, since {modelsummary} now uses {tinytable} by default, all this will be available out of the box.

Tables in R Markdown can be a NIGHTMARE. (I end up resorting to placing numbers into a LaTex table.) Tinytable is fab!
If you already use tinytable, please update. This is an important release, because it includes a lot of internal changes that make the output cleaner and more consistent.

Yes, absolutely. The ergonomics is such that it's trivial to do conditional formatting using simple base R commands. Here's an example: vincentarelbundock.github.io/tinytable/vi...

Glad to hear it!

If you have ideas for some of those extra features, I'd be glad to hear it. Always looking to improve {tinytable}!

So {tinytable} is a generic data.frame->table package. {modelsummary} is a model and data summary package that depends on {tinytable}. modelsummary.com

{tinytable} is for all kinds of tables, not just regression ones. It's the default backend for {modelsummary}, which *is* specifically for models, but modelsummary can also work with gt, kableExtra, huxtable, and a bunch of others: modelsummary.com/vignettes/ap...

Oh yeah I remember this one, I once used {modelsummary} and it was based on {tinytable} but I was already biased towards {gt} so I didn't bother exploring it 😅

A question; you write about how to format text in grouped columns: vincentarelbundock.github.io/tinytable/vi...
But how can I style the borders? I can't find the way to colorize the border between the row with colnames and the added row with group names. Do you maybe have a suggestion?

Q for Python users that miss R: Is there something like `tinytable` for Python? Plotnine solved 90% of the problems of not having `ggplot`, but I need someone to get cracking on building `tinytable` for Python. Pretty please? 😑
