Factcheck: Triggering the coal lobby

The coal lobby in Queensland didn’t like our Revenue Summit yesterday, which showed how much more money could be raised from coal companies.

They were so upset, they even got their facts wrong! #ThePoint #auspol

"When asked by a journalist about unemployment she calmly replied that “there are still jobs being created, just not as many”

"Again...not sure why she thinks this is great, given the only time jobs actually fall is during a recession. #ThePoint #auspol

There's report that Australia's largest aluminum smelter might close because of energy prices. As I write, when you hear about high energy prices, you are talking about the impact of Australian gas exports. #ThePoint

I have no doubt at all that the faceless advisors qho came up with this are completely comfortable with the mass arrest, and even deporation, of black Brotiah citizens. It may even be thepoint. #racistUK
Just noticed the Conservatives’ British ICE proposal also involves using mass deployment of facial ID – still an unproven and unreliable technology that particularly struggles with non-white faces – to enable deportations.

Which would inevitably mean false positives leading to detention of citizens
