It worked amazingly for 2 years. Never had to reindex the gears. I think the motor has burned out in my mech, luckily I'm still within the warranty period so I should get a replacement from SRAM.
Tldr, the pain is minimal except when it bricks itself which is when it's worth having a spare bike

Like a Pi Pico RP2040 chip is ~$1, and that's a Dual Core 133MHz ARM CPU w/ 264K of SRAM. RP2350 is under $2 with double the SRAM and more GPIO if you did want cart compatibility. Or go hyper budget with a CH32V203 RISC-V at 144MHz with 20K SRAM for like 50 cents. Would need to add PSRAM tho. 😋

I cały dzień w dupie. Chuja załatwiłem w tym szpitalu. Za późno zrobili morfologię. Poza tym stan podgorączkowy i podwyższone CRP. Jestem wkurwiony. Nóg na loterii nie wygrałem, żeby się tak szlajać. No i nie sram pieniędzmi.

Very old 2D cards sometimes had slots for additional (SRAM? DRAM? not sure .. toooo long ago) vram. For certain old 3dfx cards, additional vram can be soldered on.
But of course, nowadays, this is just not something you can do with how tight everything is on graphics boards.

my random opinion is that sram doubletap are so nice and i wish my shimano levers didnt let the entire fucking brake lever sponge around. the double tap release action is plasticky and whatnot but it sets all at once, whereas the gear action also feels mushy as hell even in the mid tier groupsets
