Solar session with the SUNSCAN - 2025/12/02 ☀️
This is a result of 4 scans stacked directly in the mobile app. A perfect opportunity to catch that massive sunspot group AR4294-AR4296. 🔭

Had some nice activity on Sunday.
Really loved working with the Player One Mars 662M

This morning our seeing conditions were excellent and we got our first solar disc with prominences! I'm sure the images will get better as we go on, but this was so much fun to get today!

I took sun images for three straight days and it was really cool to watch the sunspots change in such a short period. Check out how the upper and trailing patches seems to materialize from nowhere and some of the areas shrank. Really cool!

Summer is only a few days old here in New England, but wow is it hot this week. I left my scope out for some solar imaging and manage to snag some sunspots.

Guess who got outside to do a tiny bit of astrophotography today? ME! Still waiting for a clear night, but the forecast remains bleak.

In sun-related news, wow! Look at that giant cluster of sunspots!

Honestly, it’s barely worth setting up a full session for something this subtle… but hey, the filter is new, and you want to see how everything works.

And let’s be honest—any excuse for a coffee break is a good one. 😄☕ #SolarImaging #smarttelescope #Vespera2

First light under the Sun with the solar filter on my new Vespera 2! ☀️🔭 A few tiny #sunspots are visible on the Earth-facing side—but they’re really small. #SolarImaging #smarttelescope #Vespera2

Conditions weren't amazing today, but I hadn't been out imaging in awhile so I took some images of these massive sunspots. Now I just need this wildfire smoke to clear out!

Monday dawned clear and bright so we set up the hydrogen-alpha solar telescope and recorded some image sequences. Today was dull and cloudy perfect for learning new processing techniques. We've a long way to go but we think this picture shows great progress!

Something new is on the horizon! Active Region 4087 is rotating into view after having recently blasted multiple coronal mass ejections (CMEs) into space. Its aim is off from hitting Earth but in coming days, we will be within the sunspot's strike zone.

Active Region 4079 will be rolling out of view soon without producing the kind of flares that might be expected from a sunspot of that size. It was an otherwise unremarkable photosphere today.

The day presented unexpected periods of clear sky (between clouds) and decent seeing for our Sun shot. Hoping for better opportunities Friday though our feature of interest may be unavailable.
