The cuffs of my latest pair of scrappy pirate socks are knit in 1x1 ribbing from a deep blue marled, tonal colorway of Zitron Trekking XXL sock yarn. This ribbing takes longer to knit than more common 2x2 ribbing, but I think it suits the yarn better. The first ankle stripe on both of my latest scrappy pirate socks is two different olive greens. It’s an effort to make the socks less identical while still being recognizably a pair. This stripe is knit from Lang Jawoll Superwash sock yarn. About halfway between gusset and toe of these scrappy pirate socks and well pleased by them. I thought I’d have to be satisfied that shoes hide the feet. That said, I usually don’t mind that I’m the only person to see some parts of my knitting.
