P.S. I taught a graduate public libraries course for 35 years. The RRPL sounds like an archive/museum with reading room. Compare the RRPL with the Internet Public Library.

RRPL: pls emerged in the 19th C, tax funded & (eventually) open to all. ~1900 a librarian in Iowa arrived to find the public placed “first a book then a bird & then a can of fish” on shelves. Pl stepped away from the museum/exhibit model & built circulating collections on anticipated interest.

The Rock’n’roll Public Library exhibition at Farsight Gallery, just off Denmark Street in the musical heart of London, was extended for a week, but does close today. The RRPL is pop culture memorabilia collected over a lifetime by Mick Jones of The Clash and Big Audio Dynamite #RRPL
