Heads up for those in the Tamarack area below the #RockFire, these slow-moving, very wet, storms look like they're headed your way over the next few hours. They're causing flash flooding SE of you -- if this amount of rain hits that very fresh burned area, it won't be pretty. #IdahoFire

I expect the #RockFire containment % to start creeping up in the next day or so. Entire fire is lined, 90% of it by dozer. And most of that backed by hoselays. Expect heli work, and occasional fixed wing drop but the air show is over unless something bad happens.

As I said in my IdahoFire.org #RockFire email, the firefighters (still) have the upper hand. Most of the current heat is from a burnout. There's dozer line around most of it, working on mop-up. I'd say it's pinned down, but this is Subapline fir, only takes one torch & puff of wind to lose it.

This video of the #RockFire is one of the best I've seen of any fire. Again, if anyone needs a place to evacuate, please let me know. I've got folks prepared to host and they all accept animals in their house.

Thurrock Council invested millions into solar farms, via a bond scheme sold by the comapny & its operating group.
Rockfire has since gone into administration. Thurrock council was declared bankcrupt in 2022.

The Rock Fire continues to burn alongside Tamarack Resort as fire crews reinforce control lines along the Bliss ski trail. A Flash Flood Warning is also in effect until tomorrow morning.

No. UKIP came close to taking the seat in 2015 - less than 1000 votes behind 1st place (but actually 3rd place).
Labour controlled the council 2010-2016, the Tories from 2016-2024. It's now Labour controlled again since 2024 and has a Labour MP.
The issues with Rockfire were between 2016-2020.

I suspect it will be on Load and Return out of Poky. Large Air Tankers up from Redding, CA over from MT, etc will Load and Return Boise. SEATs (single-engine air tankers) are working out of McCall and Ontario. #RockFire #Airshow #IdahoFire

This is a *very* rough estimate of where they are trying to stop the #RockFire in Tamarack Ski Area w/ a retardant line and scooper drops.
I'm somewhat optimistic with the current moderate fire intensity, but less so given how much this subalpine fir is throwing spot fires.

This fire is looking like it will be here a bit longer. Last report I saw it had blossomed from 1000 acres (noon) to 1871 acres (6:30pm).

Thurrock sued Kavanagh and his company Rockfire Capital for fraud last year. The SFO investigation, which is being assisted by Essex Police, is separate from that process
