Actually quite glad at my level of refereeing we don’t have any of this. Seems like a Pandoras Box that the game keeps opening and acting surprised when nasty things happen

Arteta is far and away the most classless manager in the prem. Every time he gives a losing interview says the result was influenced by an incorrect refereeing decision, then says his team 'dominated' the game. Never gives the other team credit. Always a bad loser. Always a bottler. #upthevilla

That is fuckin unbelievable, was the head masons son refereeing, thats scandalous

Liverpool have had some dog shit refereeing decisions go against them this season.

Turns out that can have an impact on your ability to win a title. Who'd have thought?

I'm not disagreeing about that. I just think it is pretty standard for the high offense guys across the league, and SGA is not an outlier. To me, this is a rules and refereeing problem, not a player problem. The incentives are off.

Some refreshing - and correct, scrum refereeing tonight from Brace. Rochelle driving forward, with ball at feet of Eight. But Tigers keeping shape while giving ground. No drops. No lost binds. So no pens. Rochelle players demanding a pen tells you how mis-represented scrums are now. Pen factories.

If the South gets politics, law and finance, I suppose it's only fair that the North gets refereeing.
December 6, 2025 at 7:12 PM
Just thinking, prompted by Anthony Taylor's VAR announcement in the Leeds v Liverpool game: is Premier League refereeing the most northern-biased vocation in England? They *all* have either a Yorkshire or Lancashire accent, bar Michael Oliver (Geordie).

Our problems go beyond the refereeing of the scrum but someone needs to point out to Evans the Quins' front row's shenanigans.

He's getting a true taste of PL refereeing.

What’s is Arteta saying??? bad refereeing? Not enough skilled players?. Here we go again, they are only ahead by TWO points, sad!!
December 6, 2025 at 6:08 PM
I think that’s tied to permissive refereeing, FWIW.

It’s not “unfair” if it’s done evenly, but letting more go generally tends to favor the less skilled team.

That’s not meant as a sleight on Villa, per se.

But I don’t think Arsenal would be overpowered by Villa in a tightly called match.

With this kind of refereeing, we should all pray there will be no injuries...

#GROGMEET

I’ve just had a lovely hour signing up for games at Grogmeet in January. So many classic scenarios on offer!

I’ve gone:

Mothership (never played), Golden Heroes (Designer Bombing), Dee Sanction (never played), Code of the Spacelanes (refereeing), DungeonWorld (Never played).

Fun!

Your defenders are just thugs. It’s horrible - how do you watch that week in week out. Your guy clears off the line for 2-1 after he should have been sent off for violent conduct. Oh and on cue he finally gets booked!!!

The second goal should never had stood. Crap football and crap refereeing

Rob Marino is such a talented comedic actor, I’m surprised he needs to find additional work refereeing Premier League games

An angry Tom Cleverley thought referee Thomas Parsons got 'two big decisions wrong' in Argyle's 1-0 defeat by Bradford City at Home Park.
He will be speaking to the EFL's head of refereeing about it tomorrow. #pafc

My conclusion is people only care about Liverpool and Man Utd. Last seasons shout of worst league ever hasn’t reared its head this year despite worst xpts and 90% of goals coming from set pieces. Refereeing decisions get week long analysis when it’s us/Utd. Anyone else and it’s forgotten by Monday.

Very one sided refereeing today. Missed a lot of fouls on #ncfc players and a first half penalty.

Cazorla has just discovered that Spanish refereeing is rubbish.

Well, he's probably known it his whole life.

Saka with a COMPLETELY clean tackle, called a foul. Ref cards him for reacting exactly like Villa players have reacted all match long.

That is awful refereeing
