塩基配列検索システム、高速処理のためにSSD x4枚でRAID0にしてその上で作業してメモリも192GB積んだマシンで実行すると、BLASTNも高速化するため数倍程度しか速度が出ねぇ。見込みでは少なくとも数十倍以上のつもりだったのだが。というかBLASTNの高速化がすごい。これでええやんと思った。

最悪壊れてもその時は泣くだけだから構わないというならRAID0で組んで8Tを2台で16Tとかもできるけど、その場合って容量アップとか出来るんだろうか？

They're a btrfs raid0 volume so if there's some sort of linux log you can look at and see what the actual error is.

As someone that has had the worst cough/lung thing over the last 7 days, therefore hasn't slept much since, I'd just really like to question the sanity around deploying lungs in a 2x lung / RAID0 setup.
At least some kind of 'revert back to last known good configuration' could really have helped.

RAIDが使いたいなーとずっと思っていたが、NASケース売っぱらっちゃたし、今更機材を用意するのもだるいし⋯と思って。でも手慰みは欲しくて、今更ながらwindows記憶域スペースなどに手を出しました。いわゆるソフトウェアRAIDですね。以前から使ったまま放置していたHDDなどで構成すると、なかなか手強い。やっぱり専用機材の方が簡単だ。ドライブの構成が問題だったり、なんかクリアしないといけないパラメータがあってPowerShellでこまこまやって。先人の苦労を美味しくいただきましたが、それでもよくわからなくて結局二日程かかる。RAID0プラス１相当の設定が完成しました。後はガワか。面倒だな。

Se vuoi proteggerti dal guasto di un disco devi usare almeno raid1, quindi 2 dischi da 16Tb . Certo, se ti fidi, puoi metterne 2 da 8Tb in raid0, e allora si arriverebbe, credo, sui 700 euro (con il NAS). Ma io sono paranoico… 🤣

With btrfs, we just add the second device, then run a command to convert the data allocation algorithms to RAID0:
# btrfs device add -f /dev/sdb1 /mnt/Data && btrfs balance start -dconvert=raid0 /mnt/Data

I have a feeling that that drive is on its way out, so bought two new SSDs to replace it with. The only thing I'm worried about now is if it isn't the SSDs or some weird software issue with Windows, then its the SSD controller and that
