📷 Edgar Richard Williams Another of his people looking at a view photographs but this time the person looking is also drawing or perhaps writing. The black & white photograph incorporates two other features of his photography that I am noticing. One is how, with a distant view, he will often get something nearby into the picture. This could be the ground immediately ahead, as here, or the side of a rocky mountain, or just a slope in close proximity. The other feature I enjoy is when he keeps the whole scene up high and inhospitable. No looking at the world below, at civilisation, or a safer greener world. Here a man sits on a high crag, with patches of snow, looking over to the next mountain. The photographer is higher still, looking down on him but not too far away.

Black-and-white photograph of the Tschingelhörner peaks with Martinsloch. The Tschingelhörner peaks provide an excellent view of the Glarus Overthrust. Here, an older layer of rock (approx. 260 to 300 million years old) has been thrust over a significantly younger layer (approx. 35 to 50 million years old). The Glarus Overthrust is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site “Tectonic Arena Sardona.” This photo has an arena vibe for me. It is dominated by sky with a few clouds, and the Tschingelhörner peaks are framed by mountain ridges on the left and right. In the foreground, you can also see a bit of alpine meadow.
