I cancelled my Google account sum subscription and now use a company based in Europe called pCloud to store my photos. Google maps replaced by Sygic for navigation.

The tech here is way beyond my understanding, but is it not possible for data to be stored by Apple so that the en/de-cryp is done on the user's machine?
Isnt this what pCloud does? so any access by a 3rd party still needs the owners consent/ participation to read?

E-Mails könnten bei deinem E-Mail Anbieter gespeichert werden.
Geräte-Backups lässt das Betriebsystem derzeit leider nur zur iCloud oder eben einem PC zu.

I've been using PCloud for almost 7 years. I paid for Lifetime 2TB storage, so I never have to worry about hard drive crashes, missing USB sticks, fires, floods, etc. And with the PCloud Windows app, it does automatic background syncing to the cloud of all my project folders. Life saver.
