New: a class action suit filed in Chicago's federal court this morning alleges overcrowding and inhumane conditions at the Broadview, IL ICE facility, as well detainees being denied legal counsel.

The Sentencing Bill has passed its 3rd reading in the Commons tonight.
It was opposed by the Tories & Reform. All but 2 Lib Dems abstained - those 2 voting for it, along with Labour and Greens.

maybe it’s because i didn’t take my meds bc i got up late but im at the store and kids yelling “shoot yourself” (not to me but at their friends mention of getting a blind box they don’t like) and overcrowding my personal space while i’m looking at popup shop merch is really bothering me

The Minister of education thinks school overcrowding dates back to 2023, yet in my area in Calgary we’ve be dealing with overflow and lotteries since I moved here in 2018. Our k-6 was so crowded that 6 was divided up to other schools now also over capacity.

Sabir: striking is an essential part of the collective bargaining agreement. They've been exercising their right to stand up against overcrowding, underfunding, and supports. Instead of taking the concerns seriously, they want to legislate teachers back to work without letting us see it.

They stopped tracking class sizes in 2019 so that we wouldn't know how bad things would get. School overcrowding must date back to before then, at least.

Maybe they done could’ve figured out a way to deal with the extreme overcrowding in West End school FACILITIES and find a TRANSPORTATION solution if the Executive Director for Facilities and Operations wasn’t collecting a six figure full time paycheck without doing a full time job.
