📚 Did you know? The Palestinian flag was designed in 1916 and represents the Arab revolt against Ottoman rule of that time. Each color has meaning: black for oppression, white for peace, green for the land, red for struggle. #PalestinianFlag #Symbolism #GeneratedWithAI

Shelling destroys much of Medan and the Chegour district, while fires consume the city’s fabled bazaars. The Palace of Al-Azm, a former Ottoman governor’s palace housing the French Institute, is left a partial ruin. 5/6

Well, we were trying to invade Russia. But did so during autumn, because the king was convinced he was an invincible genius.
We got defeated and the king fled to the Ottoman Empire where it is said he and his men fell in love with köfte and dolmados and brought them back.

Read a fucking book, at least the Wikipedia page on this—it wasn’t divide & conquer—the Ottoman Empire gained their territory by conquering other countries much like every empire did at that time in history. When they lost WW I, several nations were given independence like Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, etc
