After reading this letter by @chuckwendig.bsky.social , and after a semester of my University (and its system) trying to gently waterboard me with AI, I'm saying 'No' to generative AI tools. I'm declaring that in my email signatures. And I'm asking my colleagues to do the same. #No2AI
Apparently I'm doing this -- my open letter to that open latter about AI in writing and publishing. I emerged from Hibernation Week to write it, so god only knows how much sense it makes. But at least a human wrote it, so that's nice.

Bonus: picture of my "cat," sweet baby Boomba.
My Open Letter To That Open Letter About AI In Writing And Publishing

You're cotton picking so right, bro'. Anything created by AI needs a massive red label slapping on it – at the start, in the middle and at the end. Legally enforceable.

This absolutely nails it. Why is it everyone's so obsessed by migrants, both legal and illegal when the biggest threat to life as we know it is this! 3m jobs gone in 10 years. Why is the Starmer govt encouraging this in the name of maintaining our competitive edge?

A big @ to anyone wetting themselves about migrants taking their jobs blah, blah. You really are a bunch of patsies ... Elon Musk and his mates must pissing be themselves laughing how they've conned you.

Youtube is rolling out an auto dubbing feature for videos. And guess what it uses... AI... They were at least kindly enough to give us the option to turn that shit off.

Why is being waved through? Dodgy AI generated 'art' is the least of it. This is society changing. They banned hallucinogens for far less – so why aren't the 'great and the good' waking up to this threat?
