If you liked Cheng Lei from #LegendOfTheFemaleGeneral, then I can recommend #ShadowLove. (Plenty of people on here would agree with this rec!) No, it’s not a #NirvanaInFire level of brilliance but it’s a good C-drama, with good acting from the leads and secondary cast. Also Cheng Lei is damn fine!

#NirvanaInFire But again, my point here is that both Nihuang and Consort Jing have, at these respective points in the story, agreed to/decided to keep crucial information about MCS’s real identity from Prince Jing. They don’t get to be mad at him when he reacts in the *absence* of that information.

#NirvanaInFire And sure, by Episode 33, it is reasonably arguable that Prince Jing should be more willing to give MCS the benefit of the doubt, but look at all of this from his POV: this is his *mother*; there’s a reason she was the fulcrum of Xia Jiang’s & Prince Yu’s scheme.

#NirvanaInFire But you can’t convince me that if MCS were a *stranger* to her, she wouldn’t be more sympathetic to why Prince Jing is so angry at him. Even taking into account MCS choosing to help Jingyan, Consort Jing’s surety that MCS didn’t not gaf about her rests on knowing that he’s really LS.

#NirvanaInFire It’s one of the only times on the show that Consort Jing kind of loses her temper w/Prince Jing. Her vehement defense of MCS is *entirely predicated* on the fact that by this point in the story, she’s also realized that MCS = LS, and LS wouldn’t do something like that.

#NirvanaInFire She certainly wouldn’t wholesale give MCS the benefit of the doubt and she very likely wouldn’t have publicly lost her shit at Prince Jing the way she does. Her reaction there resides entirely in her awareness that MCS = LS and LS wouldn’t put innocents in harm’s way like that.

#NirvanaInFire Nihuang has known MCS for exactly 10 business minutes longer than Jingyan has *as far as Jingyan knows.* If MCS were a stranger to Nihuang who’d aligned himself-at least on the surface-with Prince Yu she likely would’ve wondered the same thing Jingyan does.
