Old Neepsend is Sheffield. Recording studio where Arctic Monkeys practised and recorded.
Old cobbled stone road which once ran between teraces.
Old coal drops from train track above.
Cafe where take photos of your dog and hang them up.

Southampton is full of 'old' buses today, which made me happy. Some were genuinely old, others were the subject matter of my bus obsessed boyhood and a few positively modern: from my perspective...

Friday book and pint. Termush is a very short book that starts off as dystopian fiction but seems to bleed into an allegory for fascism/authoritarianism. It's very prescient. The pint is Dryad by Neepsend, which has not unpleasant peach cordial flavours.

Leeds via Sheffield due to Huddersfield station closure has its advantages. A visit to The Sheaf View, Heeley. The nights are definitely drawing in. Start with a Neepsend Blonde & finish with rare (cask) Triple Point Plum Baltic Porter which was excellent

Neepsend Wild Cat 05.09.25
A few months ago, I observed a white cat in a state of Luxe, Calme et Volupté on Nairn Street in Crookes and it came to me all of a sudden as if from nowhere that all white cats should be called Isis.

Neepsend Lane #Sheffield 05.09.25
The real sky replaced by a block of dark blue.
It occurs to me that Neepsend Lane is boundaried by two sentinels in the form of derelict buildings - this one here and the Farfield Inn at Hillfoot.
It's easy to see where the Kelham Island development area ends.
The real sky replaced by a block of dark blue.

Street Art Sheffield's tours are back! I've got two tours planned for the coming weeks.
This coming Saturday, I will be guiding people around Kelham Island and Neepsend. Then the first Sunday of October, I have a tour of the city centre planned.

with the real sky replaced by a block of sky blue colour.
EBAY HELL is one of those phrases that appears to have meaning but which in fact means nothing.
Like the lyrics to songs by Oasis or Echo and the Bunnymen, amongst countless others.

The sign on the REX MARKET banner reads
NEXT ON - NEVER - Because Sheffield Council have KILLED this Area!
I'm not so sure. Kelham Island has been gentrified but the process didn't involve widespread social cleansing because hardly anyone lived there.

When they approach the bottom of Neepsend Lane, they get excited at the prospect of hitting Bar Liminal, Kelham Island, where the prices of food and drink are displayed in round numbers without £ signs.

It's changed a lot round here recently. These days, lines of psychogeographers proceed down Neepsend Lane doing the conga. They are all poly sorry SHU students doing their urban studies dissertations.

River Don, Penistone Road / Neepsend Lane #Sheffield 05.09.25
People who are not fortunate enough to live in Sheffield might perceive something akin to a rural idyll but Penistone Road is profoundly anti-pedestrian and the bridge leads to an area of mixed dereliction and mysterious fringe industry.
