Just now learned that CNs' bumpers came from necessity. When the network first launched they were having problems finding advertisers and needed to do something to fill up the time. I can't imagine the network without them.

As it changes to the cooler seasons amount of usable sunlight space on the back deck is greatly reduced. Introducing the solar sail, gets the solar cells above the shadows for that all day charge. #Necessityisthemotherofinvention #MiaChaviGeekery #RustedGearArt

A triple-gang lightswitch panel, having electrical conduit coming down the wall from above the panel, is shown in the center of the picture. Two plastic plumbing pipes have been installed through the wall on the right, which is at a 90° angle to the switches' wall, parallel to the top and bottom of the switchplate.. The pipes extend to the furthest left of the switchplate. Each pipe terminates with a 90° elbow. The top elbow faces downward; the bottom elbow faces upward. The switches are toggle switches (being the ones that are small, skinny, and protruding from the wall, rather than rocker switches, which are tall, wide, and much flatter to the wall). A hole has been drilled through the left-hand switch, and string has been passed through the hole. This string has been knotted around the switch, and the ends of the string have been passed through the pipes. The result is that sufficient upward or downward pressure exherted on the pipes from the other side of the wall could cause to toggle switch to, well, toggle. The caption says, "When the light switch is in the other room".
