#WCA2025 Highlights 🎥

During a field trip in Gicumbi District, we saw firsthand how farms have shifted from monocrops to intercropping, with trees protecting riverbanks, controlling wind in tea plantations, and supporting beneficial species.

Erosion is a big issue in Rwanda 🇷🇼. We visited a trial @canallsproject.bsky.social studying the impact of Fanya juu terraces, combining trenches, mounts and fodder grasses (+Grevillea robusta here) to reduce #erosion in cassava cropping systems, #intercropping with legumes, and manure addition.

These pictures are from a couple of weeks ago but WE CAN SWATH OUR PLOTS NOW! This is the Zürn multi-tool carrier and we tried swathing flax, chickpea, and canola with it. It will also be very useful for some of our intercropping trials next year like hairy vetch - fall rye. Video in the next post.
