#hawkwatching
It's September. Let's get the #hawkwatch going! Very soon, we’ll be in the peak #BroadwingedHawk migration window in Mass, with a chance to see big flights of migrating hawks. Consider this an invite to join us at the summit of Mount Watatic in the coming weeks! (1/3) #birding 🪶🦅

The weather is looking perfect for this early autumn event on the Mountain! Join us this Sunday for a live performance from the Gabriel Chamber Ensemble, and stick around for other free programs and a visit to the lookouts for some hawkwatching.

Tomorrow has the potential for good hawkwatching across southern Ontario ~ particularly along the shorelines of Lake Erie and Lake Ontario.

The wind speed will definitely play a roll in how the flight plays out along the shoreline, especially factoring in the potential for lake breeze in the PM

Thanks so much for showing interest in #hawkwatching at Mt. Watatic! 2025 will be my 11th Fall counting raptors there, and I really think it’s one of the best birding experiences in Massachusetts! #birding 🦅🪶 (3/3)

Tomorrow could be a good hawkwatching day along the north shore of Lake Erie and Lake Ontario, with a steady north wind for most of the morning/into the afternoon and clear skies. It will depend on how long the winds retains a northerly component though (it is meant to shift east eventually)

Very good hawkwatching conditions for southern Ontario right now! The shorelines of Lake Erie and Lake Ontario should be particularly productive

Nice hawkwatching conditions in southern Ontario today… light northeast winds and a mainly sunny sky

During Friday the strong southerly winds will begin to reach Ontario, slowly raising the temperature as the day progresses.
The sky is meant to be mainly sunny (light cloud layer in parts of the province), which combined with south winds = a great day for hawkwatching

Summertime doesn’t mean the hawkwatching is over!

Now is the perfect time to view raptors up close, as they demonstrate interesting breeding behavior, including the Osprey.

View them nesting and raising young at a water body near you this summer!
