December garden beauties. Iceberg Rose, still flowering after all these months, what an incredible plant. A stunning carpet of Acer leaves. Tiny pink and white Cyclamen popping up all over the place. Purple Vinca creeping around the border. #GardeningForWildlife #pesticidefreegardening

Create it and nature will use it. A large pile of leaves lifted off the path and placed in the border next to a tree. By day, a place for Squirrels to stash nuts and birds to find grubs. By night, a place for mammals both tiny and large to forage and rest. #GardeningForWildlife #FoxOfTheDay

Fortunately, because I was raking gently - the recommended method to #LeaveTheLeaves if impractical to leave them exactly where they fell - the little fellow was unharmed & I was able to move it to a safer leaf pile, into which it burrowed shortly after. (3/4ish)

Last year, we had a family of foxes, with six cubs. We watched them grow and now think one of the females is 'with cub'. She had a very distinctive bent tail and has recently been visiting the garden again 🦊 #gardeningforwildlife

Today we had a couple of noisy but very colourful visitors to one of the seed feeders. The photo's a bit blurred as they would NOT stay still! 😄 #gardenbirds #ringneckedparakeet #gardeningforwildlife

I woke up just in time to take this picture out my window. Bruno (tuxedo cat) was sitting on the pillow by my head staring out, so I checked what caught his attention. #ViewFromMyWindow

This is our last summer in our fabulous fenland #garden. Spending as much time here as I can enjoying the beauty and the amazing #wildlife we’ve spent 20 years attracting to it. It’s absolutely buzzing with biodiversity. Sure gonna miss it. #wildlifegarden #gardeningforwildlife

The Ceanothus bush in our back garden has been quite literally buzzing with insects in the fine weather recently - even drawing in a Painted Lady for a couple of days. #gardeningforwildlife

Reusing/redirecting materials that otherwise require burning or landfill space and/or demand resource use for disposal is one of many benefits of a #deadhedge. For me, they’re restful to my eyes as well. We hope to incorporate one into our little landscape somehow.

#gardeningforwildlife
Added another side to our dead hedge over the Summer and Autumn. This would have been bonfired, so it's good for our environment and wildlife to have turned it into a hedge. Looks good too. 🌱

Was winter pruning this #appletree this afternoon, when I noticed my first self cultivated #Mistletoe has finally taken hold.
I took some seeds & put them onto some nooks in the bark a couple of years ago.

Looking forward to attracting some #mistlethrushs now!!

I could never get much to grow in this bed, next to the garage, so I decided to leave it to its own devices. Here's the result, and I'm VERY happy with it! And today, there are many more Foxgloves 🥰 Photos show the growth since May #wildgardening #gardeningforwildlife #wildflowers
