I've been wanting to draw so many things and study different aspects of art but I've been so tired lately it's annoying. I got diagnosed with a huge fibroid last September and I'm on the works to get it removed (which will mean my uterus will say bye) and hopefully my energy will be back?? Yes pls?

- pays for a lab test and Hemoglobin is low (not critical though so no reimbursement)
- pays for an ultrasound that shows a mass (don't know what it is so no reimbursement)
- pays for an MRI (looks like a complex fibroid, but still needs a biopsy, so no reimbursement)

- waits months/years for her biopsy/surgery, and is happy to find out it was a benign fibroid and not cancer
- could have lived with it w minimal complications, and public system would have taken too long, but could have dealt with it
- not "critical" no money back for any tests

7 - They pretend they will reimburse "Critical findings" but before implementing this they can't even define what those would be. Is a potassium of 6.0 a critical finding? How about a mass in the uterus - not if it's a fibroid, but maybe if it is a high enough grade cancer?

I'm 40 now so I had 6 check ups/scans/annuals in 1 month. My health anxiety was/is zipping, I have to get another boob ultrasound in 6 months to get a cyst rechecked and I have to decide if I want to deal with minor surgery to remove a fibroid. But for now, I'm done. That was hard but I did it.

I remember the moment the doctor turned his computer screen towards me, showing me a picture of my insides that was 90% fibroid. He said the fibroids were literally shoving my internal organs aside. What even is the female body?

I got the pathology test letter today, and the fibroid they removed last week was indeed just a fibroid, and totally benign. I figured as much, but it's nice to know for sure. It was nearly 4cm, so no wonder my everything was flipping out.

Drinking equivalent of six glasses of water for my ultrasound later. Because when you are nearly two years post-menopausal you should not have surprise bleeding. I’m hoping it’s just a fibroid or something mild/easily fixable.
In the mean time, I’m chugging water like it’s a frat house keg party.

They cleared it out, but the cancer is so aggressive that I'm going back under the knife at the end of the month for a bigger surgery. I hope your US comes back with a fibroid that is a lot easier to take care of.

I was put contraception when I was a teen and post birth due to my heavy periods but was taken off it due to high blood pressure. I didn’t even know those acid tablets existed until a newly qualified GP told me. I was on them for about 10 years until a giant fibroid meant I needed a hysterectomy.

I am so honoured to be a guest on this important new podcast. Women's health funding is inadequate and care is too often out of reach.

Frankly, it was easy for me to be a guest on this podcast to talk about my own fibroid journey and surgery.

Nam, thank you for doing this and sharing your story.

Thanks! Long story short, I’ve got family history of uterine fibroids and hysterectomies, and after over 15 years of trying to medicate to deal (spoiler, didn’t work) my doctor found fibroid tumors in such a location that its surgery time. I’ve never been so happy to hear that news. xD

Especially important for Black women because they suffer higher incidence of debilitating fibroids that doctors don’t treat!
I can’t remember if the low D levels/fibroid relationship is corollary or causal but I know D supplements can help reduce severity, size and related anemia.

So happy to be on the other side of surgery!

My uterus and all its contents weighed 3 pounds.

I'm finally fibroid free, and ready to get back to ME. 💛✨

Listen, the baby's favourite place to be right now turns out to be SEVERAL FIBROID CYSTS

I do not know what will happen if I have to get surgery for this thing and she is not allowed to roll around and do dressage on my belly :(

She may perish :(

Yesterday my sister had two seizures. This is her fourth in three weeks. She’s admitted to Brookdale Hospital. Her job overworks her. Her OBGYN couldn’t detect a uterine fibroid that has amassed over the past two to three years. She’s only 28.

"...we (men) allowed." Stop already. Women won't meet any fucking quota of assumed healthy fetus vs suffering/dead fetus vs placenta vs fibroid vs menstrual calcification reasons. It is our human civil right to choose our own medical options in privacy same as your ED. Let's limit viagra "we allow."
